Late-Breaking Abstract Submission Requirements

  • Online submissions only (at ICEID 2022 Abstract Submission); no paper submissions are accepted.
  • An individual may submit up to three (3) abstracts.
  • Abstracts must be in English.
  • Abstracts should describe original work.
  • Italicize scientific names of organisms (e.g., Staphylococcus aureus).

Late-Breaking Abstract Title: Titles should be bolded, with the first letter of each word capitalized except for prepositions, articles, and species names.



Abstract Author(s): Authors should be listed with first (and optional middle) initial(s) and full last name; first author’s name should be in bold. Names should be separated by commas, with a semicolon at the end of the list. Affiliations should include institution, city, state, country. If authors are from more than one institution, affiliations should be distinguished by superscript numbers.

AB Jones, CD Smith, E Johnson; Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, GA, USA

AB Jones1, F Thompson2; 1Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, GA, USA, 2Task Force for Global Health, Decatur, GA, USA




Abstract Text: Abstracts should disclose primary findings and not include statements such as “study in progress” or “results will be discussed.”

Abstract text is limited to 2000 characters (approximately 300 words). Spaces, title, authors, and institution are not included in the character count.

No tables, charts, or graphs are permitted—text only.

Abstract text should be formatted into the following four sections, with bolded headers:

Background
Methods
Results
Conclusions


You are strongly encouraged to compose the abstract text on a word processor before submitting it online. Be sure to check spelling, character/word count, and conformance with the guidelines.



Abstract Type: Authors must indicate their abstract submission type:

An oral presentation (approximately 15 minutes in length)

A poster session (a visual display 4 feet tall by 8 feet wide that will be available for viewing in a designated area for 1 day)

Either an oral presentation or a poster session
