ICWID     ISEZ
The International Conference on Women and Infectious Diseases (ICWID) and the International Symposium on Emerging Zoonoses (ISEZ) will not take place in 2008. The next ICWID is planned for 2010 and plans for the next ISEZ are indefinite. The 2008 International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases (ICEID) plans to cover topics and issues germane to both ICWID and ISEZ in its scientific program.

About ICEID

The International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases was first convened in 1998; ICEID 2008 marks its sixth occurence.  The conference brings together public health professionals to encourage the exchange of scientific and public health information on global emerging infectious disease issues.  The program will include plenary and panel sessions with invited speakers as well as oral and poster presentations on emerging infections. Major topics to be included are current work on surveillance, epidemiology, research, communication and training, bioterrorism, and preventions and control of emerging infectious diseases, both in the United States and abroad.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designates this educational activity for a maximum of 18 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This activity for 18 contact hours is provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is accredited as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditations.

The CDC has been approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 8405 Greensboro Drive, Suite 800, McLean, VA 22102. The CDC is authorized by IACET to offer 1.8 CEU's for this program.

This program has been submitted (but not yet approved) for 22 hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions which recognize AAVSB RACE approval; however, participants should be aware that some boards have limitations on the number of hours accepted in certain categories and/or restrictions on certain methods of delivery of continuing education.
